Dear Pravin,

With this letter I would like to congratulate and thank you for the incredible production services you've provided for us on the German T.V. movie Das Fremde Kind. Without your excellence, insight and India liaison, Das Fremde Kind would not have come about in the manner that it did. Your location scouting, casting presentation for three main characters and below the line choices for crew and equipment enabled us to lock down our production.

After our German shoot, we came back to India to complete principle photography. With a minimum crew of six,(including producers) we could shoot more than we expected three days after our arrival. You provided us with all the permits necessary to block traffic on a main street in Bombay, allowing us to shoot a grand scale Hindu funeral procession and pyre that included eight actors, a downs Syndrome child and five hundred extras.

As requested, your crane team and Steadi-cam operators understood our cinemagraphic language and multi camera crews collaborated superbly. Your production designer did an amazing job allowing us to paint streets an earthy red and providing us with numerous market standards. The special f/x of the burning pyre functioned well and were ready to go at sunset as required. And I have only compliments for the incredible set your art department created, transforming the building that housed the Yoga school into a missionary hospital for the poor. The costumes, special f/x make-up and props lent a wonderful reality to the seventy-five extras.

In brief, I am looking for a major project to shoot in India with you. the preconception of only being able to shoot at a snails pace in Bombay happily revealed itself to be false. Iwas able to shoot as effectively as in Germany. Due to the understanding of the main crew leaders, (A.D., gaffer, grip, translators, P.A.'s, etc.) and their ability to motivate the rather large crew of two hundred to our pace, we were able to get around forty shots a Day.

I would like to add a personal thank to you and your wife for organizing our lives in such a meticulous and superb amnner. Enriching the experience was a good selection of Hotels and restaurants that fecilitated a standard we are accustomed to in the west.
